Went to Rural King today to blow some time (and money) and found out they carry some really good choices of springs. They carry the Century Spring Co. brand. They are very stiff because the 1/4" spring is .035 diameter and the 3/16" spring is .028. It shouldn't be a problem if you don't care if it isn't able to flex. I don't know how safe it really is for the model to be put under the stress of flexing anyway. Although it is cool to see a model really flex and watch the 4-link work. Is there anyway you could put heat to spring steel and weaken it? Well, here's some pics. Big one..... Smaller one..... I don't know how many people have a Rural king near by, but I'm sure that you can find other good springs in any kind of farm supply store.

Great find. Though we don't have a Rural King, I am pretty sure we have Farmers Coop. Will be checking that place out also. John
