I don't know if any of you here do any R/C crawling, but there is a new 1/24 scale crawler coming to market supposedly by the end of the month! This is a new scale for these types of R/Cs, and I see it as a great new source of parts for our static models...tires & wheels mostly, but suspension parts & others are a possibilty also, especially if the aftermarket catches on like the other scales (mostly 1/10). We'll also be able to use our beloved model bodies and put them into motion ;D Check out the video on their product page! www.losi.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0236BDThe aftermarket is already on it, with a new, more conventional looking ladder-type frame here: s13.zetaboards.com/rcjeeps/topic/6651407/1/

Very COOL! I knew there was a reason I never got into the larger RC models or tried to build my own with the Superslicks parts. I wonder how many aftermarket parts and pieces will come of the RC class. P.S. Where does the messageboard link take you, title of message thread?

Oops, sorry about the link...I guess the vendor section is restricted to members. But take a look at all of the cool Jeep R/Cs on the site anyway if you don't care to join. Anyway, that vendor on there already has a delrin chassis made for the new 1/24 crawler...it looks more like a conventional ladder frame so we can put all of our static bodies on it!

I went to the local HobbyTown to look for the new crawler, they had about a dozen on the shelves plus they were playing with two of them on the counter. The body attached to the verticle frame with two posts on either side, at about the rocker panel level. The wheels are not true beadlocks and they are quite large in diameter (forgot to measure them). The tires too are large, but very soft and have great tread. The other useful part could be the shocks/springs. The spring rate is rather soft, so they may flex under the weight of a plastic model. www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdId=LOSB1722Now I need to ask Santa for one of these!

Ahh, it's just begun with the R/C guys...They already have their own dedicated section. I knew they'd be putting all kinds of bodies on these things: www.rccrawler.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=184Once the aftermarket catches up, we'll have metal wheels, cool tires, shocks, springs, all sorts of stuff for our static models and we can put our favorites on the rocks with this thing! I can see it now...
