While waiting for parts to come in from the caster, I'll be building two chassis for the CJ-8...one box-stock, & one modified. I'll use these to interchange with one stock looking body to show two different types of rigs. I received two frames so far & since everyone here builds really cool modified & wild wheelers, I'll stick to the modified chassis here. Here's a mock-up of the powerplant I'll be using...Jeep is part of Mopar now, right? ;D Here's the bare chassis, stock axles utilizing a spring-over, HEMI in place, & the cool 35" BFG mud-terrains... And lastly, with the original master I scrapped in order to build a more accurate version...haven't received any copies of the body tub back yet... Should I go all out & do three or four links with D60s using coil springs? Can't go too crazy as I want to be able to use one uncut body on both chassis for my product display used for pics, swap meets, etc. Please, suggestions, comments, critiques all welcome! Thanks for looking

Wow! Love the look of the thing. And those tires are the perfect size and look.
So, you will be doing everything you can to all of the model except the bodies? Should be a need display at the shows, especially if both jeeps are painted the same. (Sorry, the art guy in me coming out again, always thinking about paint). I assume you plan to add stuff like cages, etc to the body.
Can't wait to see more. John

Hey Jeff. Love what you did so far. Body looks great and I agree with John...the tires look perfect under there.

Thanks guys!
Yeah John, I'll have two completed rolling chassis...one bone stock using the Revell CJ-7 donor parts, and another like I've started here...not too wild as the same completed & painted body will be able to sit on either chassis to show a stock version & a lifted, modified version.
Now if it just works out the way I envision it...

My wife's ready to kick me out if I don't start recouping some of our investment soon! ;D Gotta start leaning on the caster I guess Yeah, Alan does some really nice work. Hopefully he'll do more things in the future...I've got a few things I may have him do, maybe another Jeep project too, especially if my current caster doesn't work out.

Nice looking castings. Just let your wife know the money will come. These things are going to fly when you get them in. As I said before this is something I wanted to do. If you list these on eBay they will sell, trust me. Get your models built and they will represent your castings well. People love to see what they can do with resin cast models.
