Hey all. I've been tryin' to come up with a bead-lock ring where all the bolt holes would be evenly spaced. Here's what I figured out at the workbench today. I started with one of the SoReal wheels and noticed that there were 18 "holes" evenly spaced...d**n near perfect. So, I cut the outer rim off the wheel and sanded the backside close to the outside. I heald the rim on a piece of .020 plastic sheet and proceeded to drill out the 18 holes. More...

I noticed that the beadlock rings would be large, so I proceeded to drill out 18 holes just to the inside of the rim holes, which would give me a smaller beadlock ring to use smaller diam. wheels. It did make a difference. After sanding, this is what I ended up with... I sanded this template to the same size as the back of the SoReal rims... More...but I'm sorry the pics are SO big. I don't know how to downsize 'em.

With a little persistence and care (not to lob off a finger tip), you can remove the back of the wheels. They make great bead-lock rings. I heald the template on top of the wheel back and made 18 little drill marks. This is what I finished with. The holes are perfect and with the bolt-heads from Tichy, I think they make some good bead-locks. Sounds like a lot of work, but is there anyone here who DOESN'T put a lot into their builds? Hope you like.

Hey Larry, That's a great piece of fab work ! Ya know......It's harder than you think to make something look perfectly round inside and out..lol. Thanks for all the pic's. It really drives the dialog home.

Thank's all for the comps. P.S. I forgot to mention that the wheel that was sacrificed for the outer rim isn't lost. The new beadlock fits right on top like it was made for it from the manufacturer.
